Morgan Stanley is seeking a talented lead developer to join their Data and Application Services Engineering (DASE) group, focusing on Database Infrastructure applications. The team is responsible for building and maintaining applications that manage the firm s extensive database plant. This includes systems such as: database provisioning automation systems, database change management systems, and database self-service administration platforms. The main customers and user-groups for this role will be Technologists across the firm who use our tools to manage their databases, as well as the DBA team who rely on our tooling.Job Responsibilities

• The primary focus of this role will be to serve as the technical lead for our self-service database management applications. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Communicate with users and stakeholders to understand requirements and pain points
  • Review and improve the architecture of our next-generation self-service application for scalability and manageability
  • Perform project management tasks such as maintaining the product backlog, prioritizing items, and distributing tasks to developers working on the project
  • Contribute as an individual developer
  • Work with support teams to ensure that the application scales and is fault-tolerant
  • Respond to escalations from the operational teams and users and feed followups into the product backlog
• In addition to project-oriented responsibilities, you will be asked to serve as a mentor and guide for junior members of the team, and to provide coaching and guidance to help grow the team
• Candidate must be a self-sufficient problem solver who can investigate source code and logs to understand and improve the behavior of complex systems
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Must have excellent written and spoken communication skills

, Exp-9-12 yrs Primary Skills:

• 7+ years of overall IT experience
• 5+ years of experience with Java
• 5+ years of experience working in a UNIX environment
• 2+ years of experience with Python or Perl or other scripting language
• Experience with Agile methodologies, GIT and CICD
• Knowledge of object-oriented principles and data structure

Desired Skills:

• Experience and familiarity with Domain Driven Design or other framework for maintaining effective design
• Database Administration experience and basic knowledge
