As a Java Software Engineer at Adyen, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on reshaping how money moves across borders by expanding capabilities in alternative and bank-based payment methods. You will have the opportunity to work on a distributed, high-performance platform powering global payments, design integrations with banks and alternative payment methods, and contribute to the core financial infrastructure ensuring data integrity and secure transaction processing at scale.**Key Responsibilities:**- Build and maintain the high-performance platform powering global payments.- Design and implement integrations with banks and alternative payment methods to expand network coverage.- Take ownership from initial design to live deployment, bringing new functionality that impacts merchants and shoppers worldwide.- Identify and improve platform components to ensure robustness, scalability, and reliability.- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across time zones to drive results.- Review code, provide feedback, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.- Work on the core financial infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and secure transaction processing at scale.**Qualifications Required:**- Solid experience working with object-oriented programming languages, ideally Java.- Curiosity about how different banking systems and payment rails work, and enjoy solving complex integration challenges.- Experience (or interest) in designing scalable, fault-tolerant enterprise applications.- Ability to take ownership and write clean, testable, and maintainable code.- Strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical ideas clearly.- Thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and fluent in English.At Adyen, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of our values.
