Job Description

Job Summary:(Briefly describe the main objectives and purpose of the job. Why does the job exist )The Knowledge Manager is responsible for understanding and upholding the knowledge management standards and approach by contributing to and executing the knowledge plan for a domain (service line, industry market). This includes timely delivery of community, content, and culture activities as set out in the domain s integrated knowledge plan and as defined by EY s standard knowledge products & services. This position will contribute to knowledge management transformation, innovation and service excellence programs and contribute to the development of knowledge management standards, methods and enablers to support consistent, end-to-end service execution. This position will contribute to the development and deployment of knowledge management skills development and career management.Within Knowledge Services this position will understand the domain s business priorities to define and execute the content sourcing and harvesting plan, develop and manage Discover site and communities, and ensure consistency with content and community standards. This position will monitor the quality of the content collection against the agreed standards. This position will lead quarterly site reviews and facilitate conversations with the Research & Insights Knowledge Manager on any post review actions and will be responsible for executing any content updates or refreshes as part of the Discover site sustain plan. This position will contribute to global culture, awareness and learning programs and make recommendations for continuous process improvement.   • Contributes to knowledge management transformation, innovation and service excellence programs, while creating a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Contributes to and manages standards, methods and enablers to support the consistent, end to end service execution of content, culture and community, while adhering to functional and GDS KPIs
  • Uses analytics and common reporting to measure the quality and success of the knowledge management end to end service
  • Provides performance feedback and recommendations, based on achievement of knowledge management standards and expectations
For Knowledge Services
  • Conducts content gap analysis, define targets, and executes automated content harvesting tools
  • Evaluates analytics and report on success measures; elevate recommendations for plan iteration
  • Drives the adoption and execution of functional and GDS KPIs within the team, elevates challenges and proposes remedial actions to ensure KPI targets are met
  • Helps the KM Team Leader manage resource allocation for projects through cross utilization of GDS resources
  • Validates collection health against standards Discover and EY standards, makes recommendations to improve content health
  • Conducts quarterly site reviews and executes basic remediation in alignment with defined standards. Facilitate discussions with R&I KMs and BCOs to agree next steps for major items.
  • Program manages major site updates / re-design efforts and Discover suite sustain plan (including project management, wireframing and content)
  • Contributes to the execution of successful firm-wide culture programs and global awareness activities that are aligned to the Discover suite that drive behavior change across EY, for the aligned domain
  • Support and enable the build and deployment of networks and communities of interest (leveraging SharePoint and Yammer) where use cases meet required criteria and in line with the domain community plan

  • Articulate and contextualize alignment of all projects and actions to EY Knowledge and Knowledge Transformation priorities, for self and junior team members
  • Ongoing evaluation of knowledge value to the domain
  • Objective maturity assessment of the domain to provide recommendations for additional enhancements
  • Engage key stakeholders and deliver effective change and progress the knowledge culture
  • Champion an innovation mindset to transform the way knowledge is delivered and accessed through EY Knowledge innovation framework and market intelligence
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:(Describe the knowledge and/or skills required to perform this job - these may be technical, managerial or behavioral in nature and can be divided by mandatory optional / considered as an asset)
  • Demonstrated understanding and relevant experience in the assigned knowledge domain (service line, sector, or geography)
  • Robust understanding of knowledge management approaches and their application, paired with the ability to articulate the value they bring to the business and drive buy-in and sponsorship from the business
  • Good understanding of knowledge infrastructure and relevant domain-specific technology solutions to facilitate stakeholder discussions and identify expert resources to bring to discussions when needed
  • Consultative mindset and integrated teaming approach to service delivery
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively to lead change with people on a global basis
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated success in building relationships at a senior level
  • Professional, confident, credible and an enthusiastic team player able to work effectively across functional teams and domains
  • Strong project management skills and experience in leading complex programs and projects to achieve milestones and objectives
  • Experienced people manager, able to lead, manage, and counsel large teams in a complex, matrix environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePointSupervision Responsibilities:(Describe the frequency of supervisory contact received in the role, the degree to which the individual acts independently and when. Describe any supervision of others i.e. assigning work, reviewing performance, direct or indirect responsibility)
  • May coach and mentor less-experienced members of the domain team including other Knowledge Managers

  • May require occasional travel, both domestic and international
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Job Requirements:Education:(What is the minimum level of education required/suggested to perform this job )
  • Bachelor s/University degree, preferably in business
  • Advanced degree a plus
Experience:(What type of experience is necessary to perform this job )
  • 10+ years of knowledge management or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more relevant domain experience
  • Experience with key knowledge management concepts, tools and techniques (e.g. community facilitation, after action reviews) and or comparable experience
  • Professional service industry experience or client-serving experience strongly preferred
