Job Description

The KYC Specialist (QC) is responsible for the review of consumer & business banking customers identified as requiring further analysis and making a risk decision based upon Know Your Customer (KYC) Review. The KYC Specialist will document the analysis, analyze information, and decision if customer meets KYC standards. If KYC Specialist decisions risk outside of KYC standards, the KYC Specialist will have authority to escalate appropriately for further action. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, and ability to identify, assess, and justify their risk review decisions. KYC Specialists must exhibit the highest standards of customer service to our line of business partners and customers.The essential responsibilities of this position are:

  • In-depth understanding of KYC, Business Banking, Consumer Banking Review policies and procedures
  • Analyze transaction history against KYC standards
  • Utilize all available tools to verify consumer purpose and legitimacy
  • Determine additional steps required to decision and validate processed work by the KYC production team
  • Accurately document the research and analysis conclusion to KYC standards
  • Escalation appropriately for those customers who do not meet KYC standards
  • Graduates in B.Com/B.A
  • Work experience of 18 to 36 months in KYC
  • Experience with Know Your Customer, NRA, Business Banking, Retail or Commercial policies & procedures preferred
  • Consumer Banking Risk/Fraud experience preferred
  • Strong research/analysis skills required
  • Ability to research and understand consumer transactions using various customer account platforms
  • Independent decision making ability, and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong system fluency including mainframe and PC based systems, with a strong proficiency in Word and Excel required
  • Self-Motivated, Self-Starter, Team Player
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in various stages of completion with little supervision and a fast pace environment
  • Ability to effectively partner with all levels of management
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to identify risk and provide process improvement suggestions
