The Lead Engineer will work as part of a team responsible for business-critical content production pipelines and databases. These are the foundation of the highly complex GenomeQuest systems and applications. The Lead Engineer will be delivering new, and repairing existing, software processes, as well as handling data curation tasks which require liaison with external data providers. The Lead Engineer with be working with standard biosequence, mariadb, solr, Cassandra, and mysql databases, as well as our industry-specific, proprietary and non-standard GQ-Pat database. S/ he is expected to build upon their existing knowledge and technical/ proprietary skills as s/ he works on these products . S/ he must be able to guide new members in the team to help them scale up faster. S/ he will also be working with, troubleshooting, improving, and writing scripts in perl, java, bash, and other appropriate languages in order to produce our database and convert incoming third-party databases, and potentially optimizing performance of existing and new scripts. ,
