Job Description

We are looking for an experienced (8-12 years) Mechanical lead Engineer for the Design& Development of medical devices. This role has to oversee all mechanical requirements in theproject right from ideation through development and production transfer. This person will beworking directly with Program manager and should be able to independently handle theproject covering all mechanical aspects in the project.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs part of the R&D team, the employee should be able to perform following duties to supportthe teams goals but not limited to the following:

  • Ensure all mechanical engineering activities are executed/coordinated as per thedevelopment procedure.
  • Responsible for leading / participating / supporting following product developmentactivities Concept, planning, design development & execution stages of newproducts.
  • Work closely with Industrial design, Electrical, Marketing and cross functional teams in designing & developing medical products from system level perspective.
  • Research design options and perform experiments to determine potential designfeasibility.
  • Conduct & actively participate in Design reviews.
  • Prototyping and Testing.
  • Design Verification/ Validation of the devices.
  • Production documentation support.
  • Pre-production, Pilot and Production support.
  • Assist in project planning and provide technical inputs to leadership in projectexecution.
  • As a member of multiple cross-functional teams, be able to work on productrequirements, design specifications and design descriptions for assigned projects,as required by applicable medical device standards and internal procedures.
  • Interact with global and internal design and manufacturing teams to design formanufacturability, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCEQUALIFICATION:
  • Bachelors degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Product design(Mechanical) with 8-12 years and worked in complete cycle of Product Designand Development.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCY :
  • Experience in design of Electro-Mechanical products (Ex: Medical devices, Consumer appliances)
  • Able to work independently & experience with working in cross functional teams.
  • Experience in working in designs for various manufacturing technologiesincluding plastic injection molding, silicones, precision machining & sheet metal.
  • Experience in selection of materials & various finishing processes.
  • Design calculation and optimization for component & system level, strongfoundation and working knowledge in GD & T & stack up analysis.
  • Exposure to solving thermal management within the device and successfully handled thermal problems in the projects.
  • Experience in design for Liquid ingress protection.
  • Experience with rapid prototype and different prototyping techniques forbuilding proof of concept and Functional prototype for testing.
  • Good analytical skills in problem solving, identify the technical risk and mitigatingthem systematically.
  • Able to work in new areas and propose solutions to the problems related tosystem level that not confined to only mechanical stream.
  • Hands on Experience with CAD softwares like Solid works with exposure tosurface modelling, skeleton model/Master model concept.
