Job Description

You are a Mainframe SME /Developer, who will be responsible for the management of all aspects of data and information (both structured and unstructured) from business requirements to logical and physical design in a IT solution. What you will do: As a Mainframe SME/Developer, you will:

  • You will build applications to demonstrate agile and dynamic software support capabilities for the development team.
  • Responsible for maintenance and improvement of critical IBM internal applications.
  • Develop cloud native applications using Git, Maven, Spring Boot
  • As part of a dedicated, Agile team, You will be responsible for performing application development based on Agile methodologies & participate in requirements / user story analysis and design.
  • Complete activities related to the assigned user stories based on priority.
  • Conduct appropriate unit and module testing, Detect, report, investigate and fix defects in the application (production support).
  • Work effectively in collaboration with other team members as well as partners and other support functions when required.
  • Continued focus on improving the applications
  • Bring in best practices across all modules using Data Modeling (How to best partition based onthe data distribution, and to optimize for front end application)
  • Automate / touchless application design and unit testing for all designs
  • Modernize mainframe applications
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Minimum 3-6 years of experience in applications development and support using z/OS DB2, JCL, PLI, REXX, DPROPR, SPUFI
  • Working knowledge of ETL processes
  • Having experience of Agile methodology of working
  • Should have experience of TWS OPC job scheduling
  • Should have worked on reporting tools like DB2 Connect, MS QMF, SPSS modeler.
  • Knowledge of data replication mechanism using DproPR, Cross Loader
  • Working knowledge of reporting using IBM Cognos
  • Expertise with Agile and DevOps practice and associated toolchains for code versioning, build, deploy, testing, monitoring
  • Ability to independently analyse requirements based on a given specification and come up with a sound and balanced algorithmic design.
  • Demonstrated communication skills in a customer/stakeholder facing environment.
  • Must be self-directed, resilient and creative.

  • Knowledge of Design Information System ArchitectureAdditional advantage knowing z-testAbility to pick up new areas and work on a Consultant Profile as well
