The candidate will be responsible for executing on the strategy by leveraging his/her team to identify opportunities, provide insight and improve effectiveness. The position offers a challenging environment for the right candidate to add business value using their experience and knowledge in a creative manner while also providing a unique opportunity to influence management and impact the business performance in a significant way.This includes the development of executive level dashboards, reporting models & analytics necessary to glean key insights and inform changes in Sales & Marketing strategy and/or tactics in support of planning and the day-to-day execution of BMC and our cross functional stakeholders. Ideally, we are seeking an individual who has successfully led an Analytics program/function for a similar sized Fortune 500 high tech company.Scope of ResponsibilitiesLead a team of talented analysts focused on individual components of analytics.Work with Management and Business Stakeholders to establish the overarching strategy and approach of the analytics team, including roadmap of key projects and opportunities.Share insights and interpretations of information that are meaningful to the executives at any level.Work closely with the data, tools and automation teams to review data sets, test hypotheses and ensure that systems (Salesforce, Eloqua, etc.) are capturing meaningful and accurate information.Provide proactive thought leadership to drive strategic analytics initiatives across the orgPartner with key stakeholders and manage team to provide compelling analyses, clear reporting, and insightful recommendations across the entire customer journeyDevelop strategy to leverage predictive and descriptive statistical models to improve insights, enhance data-driven business strategies, and improve pipeline growthMaintain ownership and support ongoing evolution of KPIs for the organizationConceptualize and build multi-touch Attribution Model to identify key drivers at various key stages of the sales cycleManage development and delivery of key business dashboards and visualizationsStay up to speed with new developments in analytical platforms and techniques, incl. data mining, modeling and other analytics; recommend actions that will enable enhanced capabilities; develop analytical / data roadmap for the businessManage development and delivery of key business dashboards and visualizations in MicroStrategy, Tableau, MetricInsights, Einstein (Tableau CRM), etc.Analyze data to discern business relevant trends and opportunities and present recommendations to business leadersWork with technical teams and IT to ensure that the infrastructure for analytics and reporting is robust and suitable to meet current and future needsSkills and Experience Necessaryo Strong business acumen, coupled with creative thinking and exceptional analytical skillso Experience successfully leading a team of analytics professionals within a sales or marketing role or contexto Understand how to effectively bridge the gaps with operational reporting & analytics when capturing and analyzing data from different perspectiveso Minimum 10-15 years in sales or marketing with 5+ years hands on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation.o Ability to deal with ambiguity and create action plans in solving unstructured problems.o Ability to thrive in a matrix environment and influence adoption of new thinking and drive change.o Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.o Excellent written and verbal communicator able to interface with, present to and rationalize with individuals at all levels of the organizationo Strong critical thinking and strategic approach complemented with a bias for action.
