Job DetailsApplied Global Services Business Intelligence Management team is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the development of the data warehouse and data engineering platform. The candidate should be highly capable of collecting information from various data sources including but not limited to SAP, Cloud S/W (salesforce.com, workday etc.). Highly capable of managing high tech business data for service management and supply chain.As Data Engineering Manager, you will manage a development team responsible for designing, coding and maintaining of data warehouse environment. You will be responsible for recruiting, leading, training and managing high performing data engineering team members.Responsibilities:

• Develop short and long-term product and service strategies in partnership with other engineering and operations teams
• Drive design and implementation of innovative data warehouse & data engineering platform
• Work closely with IT team to streamline data pipeline
• Build subject matter expertise within team and drive know business / problem first culture
• Lead development teams in a full-service ownership model following Agile methodologies
• Manage DevOps activities for owned services in a 24/7 runtime environment, including driving investigations to determine root cause and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to solve problems with minimal disruption to other business functions.
• Hire, train and assess the performance of direct reports according to corporate policies and procedures.
• Assist in the growth of employees through coaching, training and career development activities.
• Interact with industry experts, vendors, partners, internal staff and auditors
• Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team
• Occasional travel is required (domestic and international)
• Lead self-service BI initiative to build data driven culture

Required Skills/Experience:

• Industry experience: 15 years of experience in business intelligence, data warehouse, data engineering, BIG data , including:
• 5 years experience in data warehouse & data engineering development using Cloudera Hadoop
• 5 years experience in a high-availability 24/7 environment
• 3 years experience in visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI etc.
• Management experience: 3 years of direct people management experience
• Education: M.Sc/M.Eng in Computer Science/Engineering or B.A/B.Sc. in same disciplines with equivalent years of experience
• Programming: Proficiency in object-oriented and multi-threaded programming to support code-reviews and guiding engineers in at least one of the following languages: Java, C, Python
• Security: Strong knowledge in data security fundamentals
• DevOps mindset and strong ownership over owned code (test, monitor, deploy, maintain)
• Ability to lead, motivate and grow teams of developers in a challenging, dynamic and global environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills Desired Skills/Experience
• Must know Datawarehouse principles (Kimball, inmon, data vault etc.)
• Data engineering and distributed systems. Expertise in designing, implementing and operating complex data model
• Responsible for High-performance, high-availability (99.999%) data platform
• Large scale data processing using traditional and distributed systems (e.g., Airflow, Hadoop, Spark)
• Streaming and batch ETL/ELT pipelines
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Full-software ownership from idea to running in production: design, code, writing unit tests, performing integration tests, deploying to production, supporting the system in the production environments
• Agile. Prior experience managing teams using agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience working with information security, IT audit, security risk and policy compliance
