Provides leadership to the Merchandise Payables processing team ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors. Identifies payment & operational improvements and implements changes. Maintains strong partnerships with other Accounts Payable teams, Transportation teams and vendors.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervision and Leadership Manages processing and is responsible for workload distribution, performance development and executing strategies based upon the performance potential assessment of team members.Maintain Financial Integrity: Ensures the accurate and timely posting of freight payment to general ledger, timely recovery of claims and allocation of funds to right departments. Abide by the SOX guidelines to maintain integrity of books of accounts related to freight payment and receivables.Systems: Responsible for staying current on any system changes for systems that interface with TAP, SAP AP and for assessing the impact to the on time and accurate payment issues.Drive Productivity Identifies and drives solutions for efficient invoice processing by monitoring team productivity, partnering with other payment teams within Target to centralize payment processing, and determining where automation can help a process.Special Projects - Works on special projects as assigned.REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Sr Manager/DirectorMaintains on-going communication and working relationship with vendors, Transportation Sourcing, EDI teams, and all areas within Accounts Payable.JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSCommerce Degree Accounting or Finance8+ years relevant experienceProven leadership skillsExcellent oral/written communication skillsStrong PC skills and system aptitudeProven analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesProject management skillsDESIRED REQUIREMENTSAccounts Payable experience2 to 4 years supervisory experienceSAP and TAP,
