These solutions improve the speed and reliability of media delivery over internet. They leverage Akamais global Internet deployment, to uniquely solve technology problems of fast and reliable content delivery over internet.About the Job This role requires the candidate to be responsible for quality and performance of Akamais Media Portal applications and its interfaces to the backend systems. This individual will work on challenging software verification and automation with a mission to release high quality application/system software that is highly resilient and optimally performing on very large distributed networks. The Manager, Software Development Engineer in Test will have an unwavering passion for excellence in Software Quality Engineering, proven skills and experience to transform that passion into continuous improvement and consistent excellence in release validation. The candidate will partner with Architects, Product manager, Developers, Dev Testers and System Testers to help define, implement and improve the system-wide validation and verification of our Media Products.Why should you apply for this role

Responsibilities

• Mentoring talented Interns and Dev Test Engineers
• Developing System-level test strategy and test plans
• Creating, enhancing and executing manual system tests and automated system tests using Selenium/Protactor.
• Addressing complex software automation and verification challenges and opportunities
• Striving to release high quality application/system software that is highly resilient and optimally performing on very large distributed networks
• Collaborating with cross-functional team members within and across business units to leverage internal product knowledge and expertise
• Managing the quality of releases and schedule and efficiently managing time and prioritizing test efforts of team
• Providing regular updates to management
• Building a collaborative team and working with team members on their career aspirations
• Test products through all phases of development and QA phases (Functional/regression/integration testing)
• Influence the inclusion of testability during design and development phases.
• Influence development team with regard to prioritizing testability & operationalization aspects of the modules.
• Investigate and analyze root causes of technical issues / performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain/enhance/develop test tools and automation frameworks

Required Skills

• 12-15 years end-to-end product testing experience mainly on testing UI/web applications.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in managing teams of size 8 to 10 team members.
• Solid experience with web technologies, browsers, and web servers.
• Experience in testing and automation of REST based API interfaces.
• Experience with end-user workflows and testing User Interfaces.
• Experience in front end automation using Selenium/Cobertura.
• Experience in understanding application performance bottlenecks.
• Understanding of programming languages and RDBMS concepts.
