Job Description

Manager, Technology (Shopping)We are looking for a Technology Manager to work on a fast-paced, agile environment reporting to a Technology Director in the Hotels.com Technology group. This position will have management, delivery and technical responsibility for several teams across multiple locations focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions for the Shopping stack of Hotel.com technology.You ll be working on some cool key projects in the Shopping teams.The Shopping teams are responsible for the Search Results and Property Details applications in Hotels.com and a bunch of services that provide their data. These two pages are the front and centre of Hotels.com customer journey clocking millions of page views every day and, being at the open end of the Shopping funnel, the focus is on providing a clean shopping experience for the user, whilst optimising conversion. Our general tech stack is Javascript, Java, Spring, Cassandra, Redis, Scala, Kotlin, Kubernetes & AWS and we are constantly looking out for any new technologies that will push us forward. The components owned by these teams are fully integrated with our CI/CD, allowing us to release every day. With these solid technical foundations, the teams find new challenges in how to deliver brilliant capabilities to better engage our customers, with a test & learn culture resulting in as many as 40-50 A/B tests running on each of our pages at any time.What you ll do

  • Collaborate with the product team to ensure tight alignment of objectives and key results
  • Engage in concept discussions, and proposed technology solutions, to meet business objectives
  • Allocate available resources to meet delivery and operating objectives
  • Ensure deliverables meet functional and quality requirements
  • Ensure your teams adhere to high technical standards to deliver secure, resilient, performant, and scalable solutions
  • Strive to continuously improve the operations, processes, methodologies, technology choices and practices within your team
  • Focus on continually evolving towards faster cycles, pushing business impacting functionality to market quicker
  • Responsible for technical vision and strategy for your teams to ensure integrity and stability of our applications landscape
  • Support direct reports by enabling their personal development, learning skills, and progressing their careers
  • Cultivate and promote creative thinking, innovation and freedom of your teams
  • Manage complex and/or unique technology projects and initiatives across Hotels.com
  • Work with other teams within the Expedia Group to deliver cross-group projects
  • Build and maintain a network of key contacts across the company and use those contacts to achieve results
