Job Description

The candidate will be part of our Process Engineering Department and need to work closely with the Design, Procurement and Assembly teams. He/She is expected to have good understanding of component manufacturing processes.

Activities

  • Work with Engineering Design to review the designs and validate DFM/DFA of designed components.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for developing components/part as part of NPD process
  • Co - ordinate with Incoming Quality Department (Inspection) to devise Test procedures and acceptable tolerance levels for qualifying manufactured parts
  • Support Procurement teams in identifying and troubleshooting part manufacturing issues
  • Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, and cost of the machining process
  • Working on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for components.

Skills

  • Ability to read and understand 2D/3D Drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and DFM/DFA, specifically in Machine Tool Industry
  • Good knowledge of Key design tolerance levels and its implications on manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Atleast 15 years of relevant industry experience
  • Extensive experience in Machine Tools, specifically SPMs and/or managing Tool rooms
  • Prefer retired personnel from machine tool industry.
