Job Description

Mechanical Design - Technical Lead Engineer (UWS)

Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Mechanical technical Lead Engineer role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating mechanical system for Defense and marine products to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (UL, CE, MIL- STD, Cenelac etc.).

You also perform trade analysis of design approaches, engineering simulations modeling before finalizing the design.

Qualifications: B.Tech in Mechanical engineering or equivalent with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Higher qualification of Post- graduation or PHD is a desirable skill. Working experience in Defense systems design is an added advantage.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

  • Must have experience in Product design and development from architectural design to detailed design
  • Must have experience in designing large mechanical structures including Selection of materials for marine environment, environment protection, structural stiffness, manufacturability, Design to cost.
  • Must have an experience of 3D CAD modelling using CREO with good understanding of mechanical constraints (vibration, shocks, )
  • Must have an experience of 2D drawings for manufacturing parts, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) based on ISO Standard.
  • Must have an understanding of DFM tools
  • Must have experience with contents of Product Data Package (Bill of Material or Item List, Item, Documents, components, COTS, Find Number, Material Processes Item, etc.)
  • Should have experience in Military / Marine environment ( Corrosion, vibrations, g load, EMC)
  • Should have system thinking knowledge and analyze the problems in finding the root cause and brings innovative ideas
  • Should have experience of working with multi- disciplinary team (Analysis team, Electronics design and System engineering teams)
