VCF RD team is driving innovative product to simplify deployment and management of applications in XaaS clouds for both enterprise and cloud service providers by building industry leading VMware s next generation Hyper Converged Infrastructure. We are looking for a Lead Engineer with extensive experience developing Storage or Data Management software to join the VMware Cloud Foundation(VCF) RD Group. Responsibilities 1) Responsible for design and development of Storage Manageability software for Open Compute Inspired Hyper- Converged solution spanning on- prem and off- prem infrastructure. 2) Develop modular software components solutions in an agile fashion. 3) Collaborate effectively in a very fast paced environment across worldwide teams 4) Proactively identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies for execution 5) Provide leadership in software development methodologies, best practices and Hands on with POC development 6) Architect and design solutions using VMware, Partner and Open Source Technologies Requirements 1) Skilled and experienced in developing enterprise grade storage/data management and/or cloud management software 2) Strong understanding of infrastructure virtualization technologies (compute, networking and storage) 3) Good working knowledge of Java, Spring and OOP concepts in product based organizations 4) Very strong design and development experience in distributed, clustered and multi- threaded applications 5) Exposure to web technologies, git(other source controls), software/cloud product life cycle 6) Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Equivalent, M.Tech highly preferred 7) Minimum of 8 Years of enterprise software development experience Desired 1) Experience in developing storage management software using SMI- S, VASA, IPMI CIM Standards and Protocols 2) Prior experience developing software using vSphere, vVOL API 3) Clear understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Management 4) Expertise with Micro Services based architecture 5) Experience in using Web 3.0 technologies like Cassandra, Zookeeper 6) Understanding of emerging Datacenter Infrastructure and software trends 7) Agile product development
