Job DescriptionThe Cloud Storage Management team is seeking a senior engineer to design and develop Storage Management software for Virtual Machine (VM) and Container workloads for vSAN, VVOL, Kubernetes, Docker and other emerging Cloud Native Storage technologies. Our teams mission is to build storage management infrastructure software to establish vSphere & vSAN as the best HCI platform to deploy and manage VM and container based applications.Responsibilities: Design and Develop next generation storage management technologies for Cloud Native Storage systems to manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, and other emerging container technologies.Design and Develop storage management software to manage container technology for running stateful, data intensive applications such as databases and modern cloud native applications.Participate in code reviews.Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of storage industry directions and trendsRequirements: Masters or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science6+ years of experience designing and developing software for large scale distributed systemsExperience working in product development R&D teamsStrong background in object-oriented design and programmingMust have strong coding experience in C++ OR JavaMust have good knowledge of scalability issues and multi-threaded programming in mixed Windows and Linux environmentExperience coding in Go and Python programming languages is highly desirable but is not mandatoryExperience developing software for managing Storage or containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker and any other emerging container technologies is highly desirable but not mandatoryVMware is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: VMware is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
