Job Description

You will configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation. You are self-motivated and willing to learn about new technologies, vendors, and IBM / client environments. Solving problem and network skills are required. You will be a team player with proven communication skills, and that is willing to work with other teammates to aid / support to both our internal and external clients. Role specific activities include:

  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer s networks and in house servers
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
  • Keep an eye out for needed updates
  • Support and administer third-party applications
  • Ensure network security and connectivity

  • Minimum 2 Months of IT experience
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  • Proven knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Proficient in organising, prioritising and multitasking
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Hands on with Juniper / Cisco, Operating system experience: Unix / Linux / Windows
  • Experience in Wireshark and packet sniffing, - Bash scripting
  • Familiarity with automated cloud network and server provisioning
  • Operating system experience: Unix / Linux / Windows
  • Hands on with Juniper / Checkpoint / Netscaler / Vyatta / F5 devices
  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
  • Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
  • Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
