Job Description

Senior Oracle DBA, Performance Extensive experience in playing expert role to diagnose and resolve oracle database performance issues with slow SQL/Pl/SQL code Experience in resolving complex database issues Experience in dealing with variety of performance problems and find ways to solve them rapidly and effectively. Extensive experience in Oracle SQL tuning, database waits, and performance views and reports such as ASH, AWR, Statspack, Tkprof etc. Extensive experience in dealing with SQL, index access paths, joins, and response times and good at finding metadata to track down a hunch or hypothesis. Hands-on experience in modifying and fine-tuning SQL, interpreting Sql execution plan and providing solution to resolve problem. Developing best practices to collect performance data and database performance testing methodology. Desire to learn, listen, think, test, and fix problems independently is essential to success. Mentor and training mid-level oracle DBAs to develop performance tuning skills. Able to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams. Requirements: A candidate should have at least 10 years Oracle DBA with specialization in performance tuning 8-10 years of experience oracle database 11g-18c 8-10 years of experience in Linux/Unix Intermediate to advance level experience in shell/perl scripting Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, including good technical writing and interpersonal skills Flexible, team player, get-it-done personality Senior SQL DBA, Performance Expert in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization, Partitioning, Compression, indexing and wait stats Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues etc. Implement, review and tune table indexes as needed. SQL Server installation and upgrades. Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems Work with application development team to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Demonstrate best practices for development and performance Review SQL Server objects in development for advising opportunity Provide technical support of database environments/applications, including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, database maintenance, process automation, evaluation, and tuning recommendations; develop, implement and support backup/restore, disaster recovery, and data replication procedures and exercises Share domain and technical expertise, providing performance guidance to other peers and team members Able to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams. Mentor and provide performance guidance to DBAs and developers as needed. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems, troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends Requirements: 8-10 years of experience as SQL server DBA with specialization in performance tuning 5 or more years of experience in software development, using Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and T-SQL language (queries, views, procedures), SQL Server Database Design, Stored Procedure Design, and implementation. Must know SQL inside and out.
