Job Description

Job Description Summary: Maxim is seeking PMTS - Applications Engineer to support power management IC products through the full product life - cycle in our Core Products Business Unit. Core Products group focuses on developing multi - market general purpose ICs covering power, signal chain, interfaces, timing, and system management. As a PMTS, you will be considered as a key go to resource for providing technical leadership to the greater team in completion of all application engineering initiatives in addition to completion of your own individual priorities Responsibilities in the Power and Data Converter Product Line may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support Linear Regulator and DC - DC switching regulator definition, validation, and competitive analysis.
  • Supervise and conduct all testing required for new product introduction creating new test methodologies and support material including datasheets, evaluation kits, simulation models, and others
  • Collect data for datasheets and release notes and collate results with IC design and test engineers
  • Provide technical support to key customers and field engineers
  • Create demos that clearly demonstrate Maxims solutions and differentiating features with respect to the competitors offerings
  • Develop system reference design boards, Application notes & other technical marketing collateral
  • Candidate should possess a Bachelor s/ Master s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a good knowledge of Power Electronic Systems/ Circuits and 12+ years of relevant experience preferably from semiconductor Apps Engineering/ Ref System development team.
The work location is the India Engineering Center, Bangalore. Minimum qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in the field of power electronics product design and comprehensive knowledge of basic power supply topologies such as Buck, Boost, Buck - Boost and LDOs.
  • Ability to own the project deliverables and drive to completion with minimal or no supervision. Ability to coach/guide junior engineers
  • Must have experience in leading execution of projects supervising junior engineers
  • Must have analog and digital circuit design skills; knowledge of transistor - level circuit design is preferred.
  • Should be conversant in simulation/design/PCB tools such as PSPICE, SIMPLIS, MATHCAD, Labview
  • Ref System design, development, testing and debug skills with ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast - paced environment
  • Proficiency with PCB Design and development circuit design and schematic capture, layout guidelines and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with cross - functional teams in multiple global locations and provide technical support to key customers and field engineers
