Position is for Postgres database administrator (DBA) in the Postgres DBA team which is part of core global DBA Operations team. This position is based in Bangalore and Bangalore office. Team is responsible for providing day to day Postgres Level 3.5 DBA support for MSWM and ISG systems. Some of the day to day (not all) activities are as below for Postgres product software installation patch upgrades major upgrades performance monitoring and tuning plant management/Alert monitoring and management change implementation backup and recovery user maintenance new database setup educating users managing incidents including communication to clients troubleshooting any user reported problems and issues, including Turnover system (postgres runway) coordinating all hardware changes with respective Infrastructure teams Coordinating with Vendor for any software bug fix, feature enhancement Coordinating on any data center related events Any user facing self service (Postgres) failure/error trouble shooting Setup L1/L2 team alert and runbook procedure Etc.Qualifications:Required Skills: Experience in Postgres database 10 or higher. Postgres or Greenplum database administration including installation of Postgres database software, configuration, troubleshooting , database object creation, routine maintenance tasks Postgres or Greenplum performance monitoring and troubleshooting Postgres or Greenplum Database Design Managing large scale of plants (30+ systems, 1TB+ data) Data migration (pg dump utilities) Proficient in Python and Perl Experience with Production Support and working on shifts/on-call rotation. Proficient in Unix OS and shell scriptingNice to have: Familiar with Treadmill Familiar with Ansible Familiar with Appdynamic Experience in working with MEMSQL vendor Support Familiar with Aquilon and Hardware knowledge including RAID controller, BIOS etc. 2+ years experience in working on hardware (different models, dell, Lenovo, hp, vmware), *Qualifications:Required Skills: Experience in Postgres database 10 or higher.
