Job Description

  • Manage a large multidisciplinary team spanning UX design, visual design, research, and UX engineering.
  • Lead designers in delivering world-class interaction designs from initial concept through to shipping.
  • Guide and facilitate strategic design direction for multiple feature areas.
  • Help solve complex design problems in simple and intuitive ways, blending together brand personality, visual, motion and sound to create delightful experiences.
  • Represent Microsoft Teams design for Bangalore and connect our product and features to other teams throughout Microsoft.
  • Work closely and constructively with program management leadership and engineering leadership to ensure overall business strategy is on track and smooth delivery of designs.
  • Advocate for design in context of business and user goals.
  • Min 10+ years experience in interactive design, information architecture, visual design.
  • Experience in software design leadership and management.
  • Have solid IA and visual design skills alongside familiarity with major research practices.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.
  • History of impacting shipping products with your work.
  • Graphic/visual design experience.
  • Design or HCI degree, or comparable work experience
  • Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SWIFT)
  • You can handle complex design problems and have a proven ability to create sophisticated and elegant solutions.
  • You delight in supporting your team, giving credit where credit is due and focusing on cultivating talent.
  • You have outstanding communication/presentation skills to tell your design stories to fellow designers, developers, product management, and C-level execs.
  • Self-motivated and driven to get the details right.
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple features
  • Strong aesthetic intuition
  • You re able to work well with others and don t have an ego that gets in the way.
  • Good sense of humor.
