Our internal Microsoft Linux distribution, CBL-Mariner , powers products across Microsoft, such as AKS-HCI , EFLOW , Azure Percept , WSL and more. We are growing and looking to add an engineering leader that will lead a team to build the next generation of our Linux distribution. If you love working with great teams and enjoy system-level design and implementation, this is the right place for you! In this role, you will manage a team of 5-10 software developers. You will be a technical and operational leader for various initiatives in the next generation of our Linux OS. You will drive the design and implementation of these projects, partnering with internal teams across Microsoft, and working closely with the broader Linux and open-source community., Required Qualifications
    • A bachelor s degree or higher in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience
    • 2+ years as a manager or team lead for software developers delivering datacenter software
    • 10+ years of system level software development
    • Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed solutions
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in building or managing Linux distributions
    • Experience with workload/container orchestration using Kubernetes, similar platforms or CNCF technologies
    • Experience with container runtimes such as Docker, Rkt, runC, containers and how they are enabled by the underlying OS components
    • Experience with one or more datacenter-class technologies such as networking, storage, file systems, processor architectures, NUMA, etc
    • Contributing to open-source projects, like the Linux kernel or CNCF projects, is a plus
