Roles and Responsibilities: Essentially this role includes implementing and supporting drivers for various family of PHY chipsets from Broadcom in the networking products of Extreme Networks. These can be integrated ones or the standalone drivers, as the case may be. This role would also need the person to be conversant with the platform infrastructure for networking products and one should be flexible to work in either platform infrastructure or the drivers as needed. Work experience in platform framework with virtual machine support using hypervisors or for adding open-source components like OVS, DPDK, supporting VT-d, etc., is an added advantage. As an individual contributor, one should be a team player and should work in a multi-site mode along with other teams in different time zones as well. The skill-set being looked for is as follows: BE/ B.Tech or ME/ MTech preferably in the field of Computer Science or Electronics;Work experience of around 14 to 19 years in the following areas: Hands-on experience in the development of embedded systems, specifically in networking productsExperience in development of device drivers for different Broadcom MACs and PHYsFamiliar with Broadcom SDK and Broadcom kernel modulesExperience in development of features like MACsec and ChannelizationExperience in supporting various types of Optics and licensing features.Development of platform infrastructure components like FAN, temperature sensors, LED, etcDebugging skills - using GDB, Kernel and drivers level debugging and application level debugging.Programming in C, C++ and scripting language (shell script and python) Source code version control tool and environment - GIT and ClearCase Highly desirable : Good understanding of switch/ router H/ W and S/ W archWorked on Linux Kernel for x86 and PPC/ ARM based CPUs/ SoCsKnowledge in Virtualization technologies, Hypervisors like QEMU/ KVM, OVS and DPDK and in Containerization would be desirable.,
