Job Description

  • Standard Chartered serves clients in four segments (Retail Banking, Private Banking, Commercial Banking and Corporate & Institutional Banking) in over
  • 60 markets. Many of the products and services provided to our clients are based on Inter-Bank Offered Rates (IBORs). These rates are being phasedout over the next two to three years. This transition, to new Risk Free Rates (RFRs), is being managed by the IBOR Transition Programme.
  • The IBOR Transition Programme is an enterprise-wide initiative, impacting businesses, functions and customer segments across the globe. It is responsible for leading and centrally co-ordinating SCB s efforts to transition away from LIBOR. The Programme sits within the Group COO.
  • In this role, the successful candidate will be exposed to a highly dynamic area of Standard Chartered and would have the opportunity to directly contribute to the delivery of the IBOR Transition Programme, one of the Top 20 Programmes in the Bank.
  • This role will provide the successful candidate with the exposure to the broader Chief Operating Officer community, as well as numerous Businesses and Functions.
  • This role will report directly to the Lead PMO, and support the overall Programme and the Business and Function Project teams, in ensuring that the Programme/Projects are controlling their deliveries and fully compliant with the Bank s Project Management Standards. The right candidate would have an appreciation of improvements to processes to optimise successful and efficient project delivery.

  • engaging senior stakeholders.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Support the adoption and adherence of the Bank s Project Management Standards, project management best practices/principles and standardised templates for managing Projects, across the central Programme and all the Business and Function Projects
  • Provide quality support and guidance on best practices to ensure high level of project management integrity across of the Programme and all the Business and Function Projects
  • Administer independent project assurance / health checks on the Programme and Projects, ensuring any gaps and/or potentials risks/issues are communicated to the Programme Director, Lead PMO and/or Project Managers appropriately
  • Ensures all Projects are set up appropriately from project governance, documentation and reporting perspective in the Clarity system
  • Manage all the Programme Financial and guide the Projects in financial management, including the cost management processes such as Clarity cost upload, recharges and accruals, etc; Experience in costs Allocation Methodology and categorizing expenses according to the Bank s accounting guidelines is essential, for example Capex vs Opex costs
  • Ensure the Programme and all Projects documentation repository are upto-date with all the mandatory project management artefacts, as per the Bank s PMS Assurance Framework
  • Manage the Programme s RAID log and support the seniors in the central Programme team and the Business and Function Project Managers in terms of RAID management
  • Responsible for the preparation and distribution of high quality materials including the Programme Steering Committee pack and other reporting deliverables
  • Support all additional requirements as part of the IBOR Transition Programme being a Top-20 Programme in the Bank.
What s expected from you
  • 5-7 years relevant experience, within which proven experience in a Business PMO role within the Bank is preferred
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and complex structures
  • Proven experience of project delivery, project governance setup and controls; Exposure to a large-scale Programme is preferred
  • PMP and/or equivalent certification; Must be familiar with Project Management methodologies
  • Highly organised and possess strong PMO knowledge and skills; Previous PMO experience is mandatory
  • Excellent hands-on working experience of Clarity, the Project Management Standards and all relevant governance requirements are mandatory
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.), PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project
  • Strong multitasking, prioritizing and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident in communicating with senior members of the central Programme team and Project Managers within the Business and Function
