Eight years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment.BS in Computer Science or related field.Job Purpose: Seeking a Cloud Operations Systems Automation Engineer for Oracle Taleo Learn production operations. High scale Learning Management System (LMS) focused on enterprise and small to medium business. We are looking for a strong technical individual to join us in the design and implementation of world class processes, automation and help us build highly scalable solutions.Responsibilities: Drive SaaS operations including capacity management, component resiliency and implementation of SLAs. Work with Windows & Linux OS, MS SQL DB, Oracle DB, IIS based application servers and data center operations. Work with application teams to automate application setup, deployment and configurations. Puppet experience is a huge asset. Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations. Participate in the design and realization of tools for a DevOps-inspired back end management and monitoring system. Review of incidents data and make recommendations for preventative measures. Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources. Engineer and deploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new applications throughout non production and production environments. Maintain thorough knowledge of application design, engineering principles and applications within teams portfolio.Skills/Qualifications: 5+ years of strong experience as web/application administration engineer with expertise in supporting Linux based systems, ideally in a Cloud/SaaS environment. 3+ years experience with deploying web applications to a Linux environment; experience with Java web application preferred. 3+ years experience with Linux based scripting. Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux OS. Extensive work experience with automation and configuration tools, Puppet preferred. Strong knowledge of Splunk, Weblogic, Thousand Eyes and Oracle VM preferred. Extensive devops experience. Coding and scripting languages, PowerShell is a plus Experience with MS SQL Server A strong team player, self-motivated, self-starter and with a great get it done and do it right work attitude. Effective written and oral communication skills (must be able to articulate technical designs, strategies, and problems to management). Strong technical background in industry standard infrastructure and application stacks. Experience documenting and inventorying new and existing processes and architecture. As a24x7x365 organization, shift work, holidays, weekends and on call responsibilities may be required. Experience with SaaS Operations, Cloud Operations, Virtualized Environments. Ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced, high growth environment. Ability to plan and execute projects with minimal oversight. Knowledge of load balancing, high availability, and disaster recovery planning. Strong experience in IT related systems implementation, operations, and support. Good experience with virtualization technologies as OVM and VMWare . Expertise in supporting web applications based on Linux / Java and Windows / IIS based platforms. Thorough understanding of monitoring systems, monitoring methodologies and on call processes/procedures. Strong understanding of application architecture design and implementation. Additional background in software engineering, service and support is a plus.
