Project Finance Analyst II

Job Description

Role Overview:As a Project Finance Analyst II at Emerald Clinical, you will be a part of the financial planning and analysis group. Your role will involve supporting project finance aspects of contracted clinical research projects for both internal and external customers across various functional areas and geographies. You will work closely with the Global head of financial planning and analysis and support Project Managers in implementing and monitoring project financial performance in alignment with the companys strategy and planning.Key Responsibilities:- Participate in Project Handover from BD to Project Operations to understand contractual arrangements impacting financials and subcontractors in use.- Actively support Project Managers/Project Leads in forecasting hours, monitoring revenue recognition, and posting journal entries.- Track forecast to actuals, report trends, and anomalies.- Review monthly project financial performance, billing status, and provide variance explanations.- Provide project cycle finance support including month-end close activities, contractor hour forecasting, subcontractor cost accruals, and customer invoicing.- Assist in reconciliation of billing milestones, foreign exchange fluctuations, and inflation.- Review monthly AR aging by project, assist with collections, and support annual audit questionnaire.- Resolve project finance-related issues, respond to sponsor queries, and participate in Project Review meetings.- Identify opportunities for scope changes, prepare and review monthly project profitability reports, and escalate issues as needed.- Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes, prepare management reports, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Strategy, project-specific documentation, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.- Participate in audit and inspection activities, comply with designated systems, and ensure quality control of processes and activities.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; Masters degree or MBA preferred.- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience with at least 4 years in project finance, preferably in CRO, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industries.- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency required.- Solid understanding of project financing structures and excellent communication and presentation skills.- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
