We care about your tomorrow, providing solutions for a smarter, safer, environmentally friendly and more reliable flow and distribution of electricity.This is a R&D Engineer role, reporting to the Group Manager in Business Area Electrification located in Bangalore and will be responsible for achieving First Time right quality deliverables in embedded system development with time to market and demands programming embedded systems in substations application.Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for software development methodologies and quality process as per CMMI.
  • Responsible for software product development of power systems domain especially about protection, control relays and systems.
  • Performing variety of technology/engineering assignments, mainly in Research and Development (R&D) projects.
  • Recognizing problems and providing input to solutions.
  • Actively following up the scientific discussions in own competence area and independently contributing to R&D projects with own creative ideas.
  • Proposing follow-up projects and activities within own technical area based on new ideas.
  • Ensuring alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and coordinating for all R&D projects.
  • Demonstrating sound understanding of R&D processes and tools.
  • Living ABB s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background
  • BE/MTech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in software product development of Power system domain.
  • Good in C, RTOS, Device drivers for embedded systems and debugging capabilities.
  • Good in protocols like DNP3, IEC 103, IEC 104, 61850 will be added advantage.
  • Having knowledge on IOT, Wi-Fi and ZigBee.
  • Good in verbal and written communication.
