VAX/VMS Cluster Techno- Functional SME JD Responsibilities
• Analysing customer requirements and providing technical solutions to problems.
• Helping the support team conduct RCA of incidents related to the application and/or environment.
• Ensure knowledge gathering & management and interact with various teams to achieve this.
• Implement best practices and recommend tools to manage database schemas.
• Preparing system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
• Providing technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
• May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
• Collaborate closely with our internal teams (e.g., data architects, designers, business to business, business intelligence/reporting, server management, etc.) to deliver solutions for business needs
• Set up a best practice for the reporting solution and maintenance
• Provide estimates and contribute to defining timelines & project plans
• Support technical configurations, and build of the application, source management, change management and/or technical delivery components.
• Work with project management to document and communicate risks and issues.
• Provide estimates and contribute to defining timelines & project plans.
• Work with onshore, offshore and 3rd party development teams to ensure coding, testing, debugging, and implementation activities are completed as required.
• Ensure alignment to SDLC and internal standards & compliance.
• Transition projects and enhancements to Operations.
• Support our operational team as needed with problem analysis, resolution, escalation, and reporting.
• As an integral part of the NTT Data Banking Consulting Team, the person will be responsible for leading the discussions with client from a business perspective.
Skillset
• Exp: 8 years or more
• More than 5years of hands-on experience in VAX/VMS implementation/support.
• Hands-on experience of working on VAX/VMS cluster as a techno-functional resource.
• Hands-on experience on Capital Market & Treasury domain.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of COBOL.
• Having worked in both waterfall & agile methods.
• Should have understanding about VAX Cluster models and versions.
• Have good knowledge about DSA, RF, SCSI, and solid-state subsystem or its location.
• Have experience on the distribution read-write with record-level locking
• Should have knowledge about CM, DLM & DFS.
• Experience in print share and batch queues, storage devices, and other resources.
• Good understanding on single security database.
• Exposure to Cloud tools/integration will be an added advantage.
• Good communication skills and ability to directly have conversation with client teams .
