ATREE invites applications for one Research Associate ( RA) , for a Research Project Organization and Management of a Central Database and diversity analysis of grid- based transect data of biodiversity and biological resources in NE India . The project is funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, New Delhi. The multi- partnership research project covers biosystematics & ecological studies of flowering and non- flowering plants, selected animal groups and documenting biological resources across the states of the Northeast region. The selected candidate will be required to curate and analyse the spatial and quantitative ecological data of plant and animal collections, map their distribution patterns, write reports and prepare articles for peer- reviewed journals, training project staff and reach - out to society through various media including Indian Bioresource Information Network ( IBIN) , DBT web portal. While we encourage candidates from NE region of India, candidates from other regions also eligible to apply for the position. We are looking for independent, self- driven, highly motivated individuals who are capable of working and interacting with a large team and willing to conduct ecological fieldwork. The position is initially available for one year of which the first three months will be probation period with the possibility of extension depending on performance. Research Position: Research Associate ( one) Emoluments: Rs. 47, 000/ - + 24% HRAEssential qualifications : Research Associate - A Ph. D. degree in Botany, Forestry, Conservation Biology, Ecology / Environmental Science; Experience with computational skills in Community Ecology.
