Job Description

Job Description - Resident Doctor Requirements:

  • Examining all new patients, check their past medical records and mentioning any relevant allergy, chief complaints history, systemic examination findings, current medication, provisional diagnosis, final diagnosis, surgery done(if any), notes ,plan of care (in coordination with the consultant) in the progress sheet.
  • Informing the respective consultant about the admission and follow his orders.
  • Writing medication orders in the in progress notes and MAR (Medication Administration Record) with start date and time as well as omit date and time.
  • Instructing the nursing staff about the necessary orders to be carried out.
  • Taking relevant consents from the patient as and when required.
  • Following up on the investigations ordered, note down the results in the investigation sheet and informing the concerned people.
  • Mentioning pre-operative orders in the progress notes.
  • Mentioning the post-operative plan of care in the progress notes by surgeons.
  • Assessing the patients for transfer in to or transfer out of ICU or ward, if applicable by consultant.
  • Attending to patients complaints and keeping the consultant informed about the clinical condition of the patient.
  • Coordinating with the consultants for discharge.
