Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong background in API Testing and expertise in Java. As an SDET, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests for our APIs and services, ensuring that our software solutions meet high standards of quality and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience in software testing methodologies, an understanding of RESTful APIs, and proficiency in Java-based automation frameworks.Key Responsibilities:
    • Design, develop, and execute automated tests for RESTful APIs and microservices using Java.
    • Collaborate with development and product teams to understand system requirements, ensuring test coverage for new and existing features.
    • Implement test plans, test cases, and test data for API testing, including positive, negative, and edge cases.
    • Build and maintain test frameworks for API and integration testing, ensuring reusability, scalability, and reliability.
    • Perform manual testing when necessary to validate complex business logic and integrations.
    • Analyze test results, identify bugs, and work with the development team to resolve defects.
    • Continuously integrate and run automated tests using CI/CD pipelines.
    • Improve existing test processes and implement best practices for test automation and API testing.
    • Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks and tools to keep up with changes in the software.
    • Perform performance, load, and stress testing on APIs to ensure scalability and robustness.
    • Ensure test artifacts (logs, reports, etc.) are well-documented and stored.
    • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on best practices for testing.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • 3 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance, with a focus on API testing and automation.
    • Proficiency in Java and experience with Java-based test automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, RestAssured, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, including API architecture, HTTP methods, and response codes.
    • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
    • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
    • Experience in performance and load testing APIs using tools like JMeter or Gatling is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience working in Agile teams.
    • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
    • Good understanding of software development lifecycles, from design to deployment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) for validating API data and integrating with backend systems.
    • Experience with UI automation (Selenium, Appium, etc.) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with security testing for APIs, including authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
    One Round of Interview will mandatorily be Face to Face Interview. Only candidates available to attend one level discussion for F2F only need apply. Face to Face interviews can happen from Chennai/ Hyderabad/ Bangalore/ Mumbai/ Pune/ Gurgaon.
