SDET - QA Automation Engineer

Job Description

As a SDET QA Automation Engineer in Benchmark & Index Management, you will be responsible for automating Quality Assurance (QA) processes for business-critical applications. You will develop high-quality test software and implement a variety of test strategies. Your role will involve addressing complex user interfaces, data-intensive operations, and process hand-offs. In addition, you will provide technical expertise, ownership, and responsibility throughout the software delivery cycle.Key Responsibilities:- Contribute and lead testing efforts by creating high-quality functional and automation test scenarios.- Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks within the software development lifecycle.- Develop tools and applications needed for automation by writing clean, efficient, and scalable code using Python-based test frameworks.- Automate tSQL Stored Procedure regression, component, and unit tests using tSQLt and pytest.- Utilize Generative AI and Machine Learning for data validation, anomaly detection, and automatic test case generation.- Conduct database and process performance testing using benchmarking frameworks and AI-based anomaly detection.- Advocate for engineering excellence by implementing automation, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.- Ensure product quality through the implementation of automated regression test frameworks.- Collaborate closely with business and engineering teams to deliver products and solutions that meet customer needs.- Drive a culture of engineering excellence through mentorship, peer reviews, and promoting standard practices.- Continuously evaluate and enhance QA processes to improve efficiency and product quality.Experience & Skills:- Over 5 years of experience as a Software Developer in Test, focusing on automation in large-scale data platforms.- Strong expertise in test case design and automation testing using Python frameworks.- Proficiency in QA and Test Automation technologies such as pytest and pandas.- Significant experience with MS-SQL or PostgreSQL, including data analysis and test script execution.- Proficiency in Python (knowledge of C# .NET or Java is beneficial) for test scenario analysis and automation.- Familiarity with AI/ML and Data Science tools for anomaly detection.- Experience with performance, security, and non-functional testing approaches.- Prior experience in automating business logic in C#.net/SQL Server environments.- Solid understanding of AWS cloud technologies, particularly AWS EC2.- Ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable code and systems.- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset.- Experience in CI/CD tools and automation processes.- Familiarity with Financial Markets in Equities and Fixed Income.Key Attributes:- Articulate and energetic individual who can work independently or as part of a team.- Strong attention to detail with lateral thinking abilities.- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with technical and non-technical collaborators.- Passion for continuous learning and improving software engineering practices.- Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.- Results-driven, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.- Displays a can-do attitude and self-confidence.Please note that LSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider committed to driving financial stability and sustainable growth.
