Traditional network security measures are no longer sufficient andrequire brilliant contributors to bring measure up to standard in a cloud-based landscape. You have the drive tobring big ideas and act upon them to help the team approach everyday issues with new perspectives for the newnormal.We need someone who is able to maintain parity between both legacy and cloud-based environments to ensurethat monitoring requirements are met from both a security and operational perspective. This involvesparticipating in POCs with vendors, deployment, and maintenance of hardware worldwide, understanding thenetwork layers to know what we monitor and why, and being involved with the automation team to reducemanual operations.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work towardcompleting (Pending world situation status)Within the first month, finish training and familiarizing oneself with the current infrastructure. Within 3 monthsdeploy scheduled hardware refreshes scheduled globally to make sure capacity is available for monitoring.Within 6 months establish monitoring requirements for one major region and automated triage/remediationoutlined. Within 12 months extend scope globally and introduce the requirements to our scrum team fordevelopment.What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on aregular basis POC, Plan, implement, upgrade and monitor security measures related to computer networks andsoftware testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation (IDS, IPS, AV, HIPS,FW, UEBA, SIEM, Sandboxing)Knowledge of hardware deployment and management ranging from servers to network gear.Collaborate with Real Estate and Workplace teams around the world to ensure Infosec standardsare met at new or refreshing sites.Proficiency with the OSI model and related technologies.Develop plans, implement, and monitor systems and procedures to effectively secure companyinformation, infrastructure, intellectual property, and users against accidental or unauthorizedmodification, destruction, or disclosure.Work autonomously in an area of specialization to analyze internal security and provide relevantinformation to internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners.Implement and design Intrusion Monitoring (IDS/HIDS) to monitor use of files and regulate accessto safeguard information.In connection with the above duties, apply knowledge and/or skills of Python and Shell Scriptingfocused on automationInfrastructure life cycle management (inventory, provisioning, patching/updates, monitoring,decommissioning)What is the leadership like for this role What is the structure and culture of the team like This role will be reporting to the Manager of Network Security, Security Engineering. Having started in the SOCand moving through engineering it has become clear in recent years that traditional SOC methodologies will notcarry us forward into cloud and SaaS based operations. Analysts cannot keep up with the millions of events inneed of monitoring and thus a shift towards automation and SOAR capabilities are essential.The team s philosophy is one of freedom and creativity.
