Job Description

The Purpose of This RoleAs a Data Analyst in Fidelity s Enterprise Risk Management organization, you will be working closely with members of Fidelity s Corporate Audit, business, risk, and IT functions to identify opportunities where data can provide insight into risk. You will participate in all phases of a data analytics project lifecycle from framing the business question/hypothesis, identifying the appropriate data sources, sourcing the relevant data, performing complex analytics, and reporting on the results. You will use data to answer ad-hoc questions and develop data-centric solutions that will be deployed to users throughout the firm.The Value You Deliver

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Perform database queries to analyze and validate data
  • Respond to business questions and queries on the accuracy and quality of the data
  • Perform detailed data analysis to support changes to reports and/or processes
  • Proactively analyze and troubleshoot problems and issues associated with the data
  • Thorough understanding of the process and the products supported
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Assess the criticality of the issues and escalate and/or communicate to the management as appropriate for timely resolution
The Skills that are Key to this roleTechnical / Behavioral
  • You have working experience with any Relational databases and are adept in PL/SQL
  • You have experience in scripting (Unix or DOS)
  • You have significant analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent assessments
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • You have strong attention to detail, collaborative and ability to multi-task and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
The Skills that are Good to Have for this role
  • You have experience working with big data environments leveraging languages/technologies such as R, Python, Hadoop, or SAS
  • You have experience working in Audit, Risk, or Security function
  • You have experience developing interactive dashboards and reports using visualization tools such as Tableau
