Job Description

    • Determine and manage the Sourcing Management and Sub-Commodity Strategy for the given commodity for Construction Equipment globally.
    • Establish a strong relationship with the corresponding Technology function to deliver Global technical/Supplier base solutions to match global requirements as well as product requirements.
    • Actively support project teams and engineering teams to ensure the most optimal level of Early Supplier Involvement.
    • Secure Sub Commodity Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives
    • :
    • Determine and manage the sub-commodities purchasing strategy for Construction Equipment in India.
    • Can directly manage some commodity buyers in his area of responsibility
    • Establish a strong relationship with the corresponding Product Engineering technology platform to ensure the most optimal level of Early Supply Development
    • Full leveraging of VCE and AB common spend.
    • Establishing a robust common process with Product Technologies to support new product development, product maintenance as well as the continuous improvement programs of VCEs commodity supply base.
    • Establishing multi-year contracts and managing the relationship of the commodity top suppliers.
    • Building and managing the commodity multi-year productivity pipeline.
    • Developing and managing a multi-year QDC continuous improvement program.
    • Supplier Host
    • Commercial responsible within OTD and within PPD
    • Define the sourcing strategy together with the commodity team (for given sub-commodities) and all necessary stakeholders
    • Anchor the sourcing strategy for its sub-commodities
    • Support implementation of the sourcing strategy in the product and regions
    • Manage supply base (identification, evaluation, approval and development of strategic supplier)
    • Responsible for supplier management strategies and tactics
    • Negotiate Long Term Agreements (LTA), containing Frame Work Agreement (FWA) based on our Volvo General Purchasing Conditions (VGPC), Warranty-, QDC-, Development agreement
    • Support Project leaders in reaching project targets with its supplier base (Planning, target cost, technical proposals)
    • Responsible for Split Agreements (VA, Value Analysis, outcome)
    • Conduct Business Reviews (meeting to review the overall supplier performance)
    • Support sites according to escalation processes
    • Validate sourcing proposals made by project teams at gate review (compliance with commodity sourcing strategy)
    • Support in activities to recover warranty cost from suppliers
    • According to Role Description
    • Proven experience in sourcing for an international group
    • Direct experience in managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvements programs
    • Deep understanding of sourcing strategy process
    • Has the required technical skills to understand and support the combined P&SM and R&D strategy
    • Leadership, Communication, Purchasing Process, Supply Base management, Dynamism, Results orientated, Change management, Negotiation skills
