Senior Data Analyst - Assistant Manager

Job Description

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work with the various functional teams, including senior leadership across State Street s Global Institutional Groups. You will work alongside members of the Global Business Analytics Team with a variety of responsibilities and deliver impact to teams.You will also provide assistance to our global team members and encourage them to acquire and follow business intelligence and data integrity best practices. You would also be expected to promote learning opportunities and development prospects within the team.Responsibilities

• Design, build, test & publish new and adapt existing Tableau workbooks and dashboards on top of Netezza Data Warehouse and should be able to query the database for data requirement and analysis
• Construct formula-driven reports in Excel
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
• Work and Interact with functional and management team to prioritize suggested changes from various analysis and ability to design, develop, test and implement dashboards and reports
• Understand BI/reporting tool architecture, functions, and features, including Tableau & Alteryx
• Interact effectively with, present information to, and respond to questions from all levels of the organization and partners
• Communicate complex analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
• Display good SQL knowledge and database programming experience gained through any of the relational databases
• Reconcile data between source and end reports, and across reports, to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Leverage strong written and verbal communication to interact with customer business users and technical team to understand the requirements
• Train and groom junior colleagues to assist up-lift for the team
• Provide support to track and manage all deliverables, including management reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor s/Master s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; and overall 5-7 years of progressive experience in BI and data analysis within financial services industry
• Experience in building self-service reporting solutions using Business Intelligence software (e.g. Tableau (must), Power BI, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated experience in developing BI solutions and visualizations involving enterprise data systems using Alteryx, Tableau
• Hands on experience in creating tableau workbooks using different styles of visualization like Bar charts, line charts, Geographical information plotting with drilldown using tableau best practices
• Familiar with Data warehouse and database concepts and principles.
• Good hands-on experience in writing SQL queries to support dashboard development and data validation.
• Demonstrated experience in presenting data insights in business context for executive management teams.
• Strong analytical capabilities, the ability to work independently or as a key player in the team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to enable articulation of complex matters in straight-forward manner
• Strong work-ethic with ability to multi-task in a rapidly-changing environment

• 1-2 years of experience in the consulting and/or financial services industry (asset management experience a plus)

Additional requirements

• Experience on any development language is a plus (eg. Python )
• Ability to write complex SQL code for strong data analysis through queries, data profiling, and data validation exercises
• Experience of implementing effective software solutions either through AGILE or other SDLC approach in the Financial Services Industry.
