Job Description

This role is part of HP Enterprises Global IT across Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and aligns with the Data and Analytics group, is a rapidly growing team and works in a fast-paced environment. Analytical solutions include multi PB data lake, batch and real-time data ingestion, data science, and visualization using open source software, custom home-grown systems, and 3rd party software. This lead brings data science and analysis capabilities across internal business units and external customers.A professional at this position, works with the business users, technologists, analyses systems, and gathers how data is used in them. Develops new algorithms and models to provide insight to internal business groups and develops for external customer as well. Researches, designs, develops, configures, integrates, tests and maintains existing and new data and analytical solutions including Machine Learning algorithms and visualizations through integration of technical and business requirements. Provides required documentation and participates in architecture reviews to ensure that the solutions comply with standards and use approved technologies. Typical customers are HP Enterprises end users and various functional areas such as Supply Chain, Research and Development, Marketing, Finance, a business, or the company.Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a senior member of data development team or cross functional teams; and may lead a project/ program development team; Performs analysis of functional and business requirements.
  • Perform data cleaning, and feature engineering on big data Hadoop platforms
  • Develops solutions independently; participates in code reviews and may leads code reviews.
  • Works with business and system teams to design, prepare and automate test cases.
  • Performs solution design. Applies the company, open source, and 3rd party technologies to highly complex infrastructure and software solutions.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Technical Bachelors degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience or a Masters degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong in Statistics or algorithms
  • 3 or more years of experience in building predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms. Preferably starting from raw data and performing cleaning, feature extraction, peer review research, and final delivery
  • Working knowledge of several of the following data mining techniques: regression analysis, clustering, decision trees, ensembles (gradient boosting trees, random forests, bagged trees), SVMs, Matrix factorization or other ML techniques
  • Proficient in SQL, and Python or Scala
  • Ability to create data visualizations, and communicate business value of analysis to stakeholders
  • Understanding of Software Test methodologies, and testing tools.
