Job Description

The daily work includes database administration, design, implementation, problem analysis and improve operational efficiencies of the database technologies. The individual should be well versed in database installation, Oracle Weblogic, ODI installation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.ResponsibilitiesDue to the nature of this position, the applicant will need the ability to work from home or during off-hours as necessary. Candidates must be:

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of all database systems including Production, QA, and Development server environments.
  • Monitoring and optimization of database performance, security, resource utilization, memory configuration, sessions, archive logs, and disk space usage.
  • Share support for mission-critical database instances, including responsibility for after-hours on-call support for issue resolution.
  • Leverage Oracle expertise and knowledge by providing SQL, PL/SQL, and data expertise to developers and users.
  • The candidate will be expected to identify opportunities for improving system quality and implementing more efficient processes and management of databases.
  • Willing to learn other database technologies like NoSQL (Cassandra etc).
  • Willing to learn cloud technologies and manage databases in the cloud.
  • Responsible for analyzing various data structures, SQL queries optimization, and report tuning
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support in the production environment on a rotation basis
, *RequirementsDue to the nature of this position, the applicant will need the ability to work from home or during off-hours as necessary.
  • 7+ years of experience in Oracle database administration
  • Experience in Linux platform
  • Experience in SQL Server database administration is a plus
  • Oracle RAC, RMAN, Datapump, Data Guard, OEM, AIX or Linux, and Exadata (nice to have); Golden Gate, Oracle active data guard a plus
  • Strong knowledge in SQL/PLSQL, ODI installation, and Oracle Weblogic
  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards, and best practices
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • Experience in AWS/GCP cloud platforms and OBIEE is a plus
  • Experience in database monitoring, Capacity Planning, and performance tuning
  • Experience in on-call support in the production environment and to resolve any issues within the defined SLAs
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills; strong multi-tasking skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Required for the interview: The ability to demonstrate work experience by providing report examples and source code.
