Job Description

Automotive Analytics partners with internal and external clients and data providers, leveraging advanced statistical and data management techniques to drive strategic thought and effective decision making. The Senior Developer, Business Intelligence will manage BI design and implementation expertise within the automotive analytics space utilizing a SQL Server and Oracle warehouse environment. This role will primarily deliver reporting solution results via Tableau/Tableau Server. The role will include hands on development work (50%), coordination with and guidance of other team members (25%) and requirements gathering and validation (25%).

  • Contribute to the design, build, testing, deployment, and support of dashboard reporting solutions
  • Provide BI expertise and help to define development standards for the team
  • Deliver client and internal solutions in line with industry best practices
  • Define scope, recommend approach, and project manage the implementation of projects in coordination with other internal analytics client teams.
  • QA/QC data and report output to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with leadership to devise strategic direction, and produce appropriate KPI s utilizing Tableau Desktop/Creator.
  • Design, develop and deploy actionable visualizations with thorough emphasis on automotive KPI s.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of client goals and objectives
  • Collaborate across the team to establish development standards
  • Demonstrate mastery of client and agency data including structure, strategy, and activation
  • Develop client-specific data governance and reporting governance
  • Exercise excellent project management skills and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Exhibit resourcefulness and thorough technical skills when troubleshooting; able to creatively solve new problems
  • Present reports to key internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the key findings and recommendations
  • Mentor other BI developers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Sciences / Information Technology / MIS / Mathematics, or its equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience creating dashboards/ visualizations, and report design
  • Deep understanding of data visualization tools and Tableau tools suite
  • Advanced knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server
  • Proficient with creation of sites within Tableau Server
  • Proficient with management of report delivery and security within Tableau Server
  • Proficient with database, data warehousing concepts and SQL
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills, able to balance multiple priorities
  • Team player with the ability to mentor junior resources
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Highly motivated and collaborative
  • Strong technical skills
  • Acute attention to detail (QA/QC)
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Professional judgment
  • Experience mentoring or managing direct report(s)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Auto industry marketing experience/knowledge
  • Proficient with some Tableau Server management and report automation using Tableau Server
  • Proficient with Tableau Server installation and server upgrades/renewals
