Job Description

  • Leads DFSS and DFR programs for multi global engineering teams that develop medical capital equipment with complex hardware, software.
  • Working with the project teams to develop a DFR program.
  • Establish design quality training programs to strengthen R&D organization s capability on DFSS.
  • Perform FTA, FMEA, and reliability modeling on all new products and recommending design changes to improve product reliability.
  • Perform PCBA/etc MTBF prediction and lead component derating analysis to ensure the initial design reliability.
  • Lead reliability and environment testing on new and existing products both product level and component level.
  • Participating in product design and reliability reviews during new product development to ensure robustness of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Preparing reliability summary for milestone review of each project, finish reliability evaluation report before low-volume production.
  • Performing statistical data analysis, regression modeling, Weibull Analysis, supplier process capability analysis, reliability target setting, failure trend analysis for new products and history product.
  • Assisting engineering teams to achieve warranty reduction and improve customer satisfaction by leading quality efforts on products.
  • Promoting or providing training in global DFSS, DFR promotion programs.

You will report to the Director of global R&D.To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in new product design or test with application of reliability tools
  • Solid experience with reliability test (HALT/ALT/MTBF demonstration) and environment test techniques
  • Solid experience with DFSS, DFR implementation, and basic failure modes knowledge on electronic product and software
  • Basic circuit theory knowledge, solid experience with component reliability test and evaluation
  • Reliability requirement analysis ability, solid experience with reliability prediction by Reliasoft or Relex
  • Basic statistics knowledge and data analysis ability by Weibull++ or Minitab
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple function team and customer
  • Good document writing ability and PPT presentation skill
  • Ability to drive and implement reliability design and test activities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Medical industry or high reliability/availability system design and test experience is preferred
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Six Sigma (DFSS) certification Green Belt level or higher is preferred.
