Job Description

About the role :

  • Plans and implements the overall user research strategy and methods for McAfee Information Developments (tech docs)
  • Conducts research in collaboration with Information Architecture and Content Strategy working groups.
  • Researches both specific proposed design changes, as well as the long-term effectiveness of the current state design.
  • Establishes usability baselines and objectively measures improvement against them
  • Participates in recruitment activities for user research
  • Maintains close relationships with other UX practitioners, at McAfee and in the field.
  • Coaches a small working group of interested technical writers on research techniques.
  • Works with design, product management, content strategy, engineering, support, and marketing teams to improve the integration of technical documentation into the customer journey.

About you :

  • Experience conducting user research and subsequent analysis
  • Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methodologies
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • 4-7 years of experience as UX Research Specialist or similar role
  • Comfortable launching and iterating quickly and using data
  • Customer obsessed & data driven
  • In-depth understanding of content architecture & UI design
