Job Description

  • Automate our routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups/recovery, patch management, and hotfixes.
  • Develop an automation deployment strategy.
  • Ensure that the infrastructure is maintained to high levels of resilience and performance with maximum uptime and availability.
  • Ensure continuity by providing capacity planning, monitoring, and maintenance of supported services.
  • Analyze monitoring data, identify problems, and optimizes performance as needed, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Write, review and maintain technical documentation for environments. Collect and maintain configuration documentation.
  • Identify faults and issues and recommend appropriate paths to resolution and/or fix as appropriate.
  • Contribute to process development and best practice. Look at new ways to improve resilience, performance levels, and supportability of systems.
Tech skills: Must-haves
  • Understanding of the various cloud hosting models.
  • Hands-on automation in cloud PaaS and IaaS components in either Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Experience in the administration and management of Linux and Windows systems scheduling start up / shut down, handling migrations, VM backup/recovery.
  • Using automated build/configuration tools.
  • Implementation of monitoring tools and alerts preferably SNMP-based.
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) using Git and Azure pipelines.
  • Write scripts Linux, Powershell, BASH.
Soft skills:
  • Mission led. Someone who buys into the mission of a company and the problem they are solving. The company is growing fast and have a tonne of things they need to achieve; they want people that are bought in for the long term and believe in what theyre doing.
  • Pragmatic thinker. You have a structured approach to situations, if you do not know the answer, youll know how to find it out.

  • Technologist. Someone that is passionate about what they do and experienced in server operating systems and application deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Communication and Presentations skills.
Nice to haves:
  • Virtualization; installation, configuration, and operation preferably VMware.
  • Storage Systems.
  • Hyper-converged systems.
  • Experience in setting up VPNs, Firewalls, and security group
  • Pentest, Performance Testing
  • Knowledge of DNS and related protocols.
