Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Interior Designe r with 10 years experience in Commercial or Institutional projects to be based in the Bangalore Studio of our client - an international Design firm specialising in Institutional Design/ Education projects with offices in the US and India and projects across the globe.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Work on multiple projects and provide pre-design services which may include conducting feasibility studies or specifying the requirements the design must meet.
  • Liaise with the clients to understand their requirements and ensure the delivery of the design in-line with the requirements
  • Work along with the Design Principal to develop concepts/ plans for all projects work on strategising design solutions to fit assigned programs and budgets.
  • Lead and participate in project meetings and Client presentations as needed work on client presentations.
  • Work closely with the team and manage the development of design successfully from one phase to the next, without compromise to quality or schedule.
  • Work closely with the project team for specifications and with the QS team for BOQ review.
  • Attend all project meetings with consultants and manage coordination with consultants other project stakeholders to ensure a coordinated set of drawings aligned to the project goals.
  • Maintain project documentation as required to ensure a record of revisions issued thereby maintaining a log for change management
  • Be updated with latest trends in design and building materials and products and technology and manage relationships with relevant vendor partners.
  • Mentor and contribute towards learning and development of design team.

Key Requirements to Success:

  • Interior Designer with 8- 10 years of experience
  • Relevant experience of working on Corporate Interiors/Workplace design projects managing a team
  • Strong design sensibility and the technical ability to develop a project from concept to execution.
  • Multi-tasking ability, with time management and organisational skills.
  • Registered Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Excellent knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD, Sketchup and Photoshop

Key requirements to succeed

  • Designer with 8- 10 years of experience with relevant experience in large scale projects; commercial or institutional.
  • Strong design sensibility and the technical ability to develop a project from concept to construction stage.
  • Knowledge of Sustainable design practices.
  • Relevant experience in managing client presentations and managing project meetings.
  • Relevant experience in dealing with consultants, sub-consultants vendor partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience of presenting to clients.
  • A team player with time management and organisational skills.
  • B Arch or Degree in interior design is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD Revit, Sketchup and Photoshop
