Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Lead Engineer role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating reliable, cost effective, customized Electrical systems design, Obsolescence redesign for Railway products to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (EN- 50XXX, CE, IEC 61000/61508, UL, CEA Regulations, etc.). You also perform trade analysis of design approaches, engineering simulations modeling, derating analysis before finalizing the design.
Qualifications: B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronic engineering or equivalent with 6 to 12 years of relevant experience. Higher qualifications of Post- graduation and PhD are desirable. Working experience in Railway systems design is desirable
Technical Skills and Competencies: Must have strong experience in Product/System design and development from requirements to Conceptual design to architectural design to detailed design and analysis Able to create/prepare systems design calculations as per standards and technical specifications Deep knowledge of products and able to integrate the same into the system configuration Able to create design documents such as calculations, SLD, Layouts, cable schedule related to Specific Railway systems Appropriate rating Component Selection such as Circuit Breaker, Fuse, Protection equipment, Cables, Terminal Blocks and Switches etc. Mandatory to have AutoCAD Electrical Hands on experience Knowledge of control and protection/relays related to safety equipment Excellent knowledge of CEA regulations, IS, IEC, BIS etc. Should have Metro/main line Railway related experience Knowledge of engineering computations such as Multisim studies etc. Good knowledge of DC/AC systems and associated products, designs in railway electrification Must have excellent troubleshooting skills on Electrical / Electronic systems to find the root cause and to propose the best solution Should have experience of working with multi- disciplinary team (Mechanical team for thermal analysis enclosures design, PCB layout team and suppliers) Should have an understanding and use of DFMEA and DFM tools Definition of electrical schematics and building blocks Wiring diagram, Bill of material and Test procedures definition and execution Component obsolescence treatment : alternative solution identification, design of the solution, verification Strong communication skills and the cooperative ability to work with other team members at other locations
Profile/Skills Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD/ AutoCAD electrical/HyperMesh/OrCAD Experience on HVDC based Systems, Experience on Component Selection such as Circuit Breaker, Fuse, and Protection equipment, Cables, Terminal Blocks and Switches etc. Using AutoCAD Electrical to generate electrical interface drawings, i.e. VOBC interconnection diagram Based on the VOBC interconnection diagram, implement wiring diagram Based on wiring diagram implement wiring lists. Design for environmental requirements such as EMC, ELP and ESD General understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles including design, development, testing, verification and validation phases
