Job Description

Cohesity is looking for a communications pro to lead our corporate communications strategy and activities in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and across the ASEAN region. The role is 90 percent focused on PR, with the remaining time focused on other areas including customer marketing and internal communications. This is a high-profile, hands-on role at a fast-paced company. The job requires creative thinking and an ability to turn technical concepts into meaningful coverage read by IT decision makers and C-level executives. Agency management experience is required. This position is based out of Singapore, Bangalore, or Pune. Other locations will be considered. The position reports to Cohesity s vice president of corporate communications in San Jose, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with APJ marketing, develop and execute a quarterly PR strategy and plan for APJ. This plan should be in-line with the company s business goals and raise awareness and preference for Cohesity through editorial coverage, blogs, bylines, awards, customer case studies and other relevant types of content.
  • Drive extensive proactive coverage in key APJ markets that goes well beyond product announcements and ties into hot editorial trends.
  • Build thought leadership profiles in business and tech media for key Cohesity APJ leaders, including the regional sales, channel, and engineering leads as well as specific country managers.
  • Manage agency relationships with PR firms in Australia, Singapore, and Japan. Ensure agencies have clear direction and are mapping closely to identified budgets.
  • Use existing measurement scorecards to track progress with APJ PR agencies. Present results on a quarterly basis with impactful context that local leadership will be able to digest.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, either in-house, agency-side, or both. Technology experience is required.
  • Experience in managing multiple agency teams in different geographies across APJ.
  • Experience in building a communication strategy for a geographically-dispersed region with proven / measurable results.
  • Excels at communicating across all levels of an organization, quickly building trust and confidence with senior regional executives.
  • Good writing skills are a must, and so is a love for technology and a keen ability to take technical concepts and customer outcomes and turn them into interesting and inspiring story lines.
  • Understands how to navigate sensitive matters in the press and, when necessary, excels at crisis communications.
  • Experience in working with sales, communications and marketing functions, including analyst relations, internal communications, social media, etc.
  • Excels at working in fast-paced environments with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Japanese is beneficial but not required.
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
  • Periodic business travel may be required once travel is deemed suitable again.
