This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesThe new Data Analyst Capability as part of the Data Quality Monitoring and Analytics team in Finance & Treasury will play a pivotal role in implementing a Data Quality and Data Analytics strategy for Finance & Treasury. The individual in this role will need to partner closely with numerous business functions to -

  • Implement standardisation in the way Data Quality (DQ) issues are managed monitored and tracked across the Finance & Treasury Processes.
  • Contribute towards the creation of a data analytics capability to centralise and analyse adjustments, data quality exceptions. Provide insight into inconsistencies and common themes for resolution.
  • Contribute towards the definition and implementation of an operating model for DQ mgt, resolution and escalation.
  • Contribute towards the creation of a business and technology strategy for Data analytics across Finance & Treasury.
  • Provide expert data analytics capability to identify and correlate DQ issues across Finance into common root cause and resolution.
Strategy
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders to produce a clear data profiling, data analytics and MI strategy across Finance and Treasury.
  • Establish a cross cutting DQ platform to correlate exceptions, adjustments and DQ issues to identify inconsistencies and the most impactful areas for remediation.
  • For key regulatory reports correlate and compare key metrics for review with process teams.
Business
  • Work closely with upstream business functions to validate and identify DQ issues as close to source as possible.
  • Understand the booking models, trade processing and system landscape for SCB business functions.
  • Work with Risk to understand and correlate DQ exceptions and adjustments for BCBS239 purposes.
Processes
  • Conduct data analysis and define business rules, AI/ML models for implementation and monitoring of DQ across Finance & Treasury data sets.
  • Review Operational Risk Events (ORE s) from a DQ perspective and ensure DQ items are logged correctly.
  • Work with Data solutions team and Process Owners to prioritise and remediate DQ issues at source.
  • Provide insight into the Finance data for Senior Mgt to understand materiality and prioritise DQ issues and escalations approppriately.
  • Review and standardise the way that data quality issues are managed and reported.
  • Establish a mechanism to aggregate, quantify and risk assess DQ issues.
People and Talent
  • Provide process teams with self-service capability and training to conduct data analysis in a methodical manner.
Risk Management
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group relevant to F&T Data Quality.
Governance
  • Provide information into DQ Governance forums for all relevant Finance and Treasury Processes (where material DQ Risk is identified).
  • Present updates into the Finance Regulatory Remediation Programme on progress against the overall Data Quality Monitoring Plans.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Lead by example as part of the Finance & Treasury Data Quality Monitoring & Analytics Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Academic degree from a well-recognised institution.
Other qualifications:
  • Experience in Banking Industry
  • Geographic experience, including Asia
  • Core knowledge of UK & International regulatory environment
  • Project Management Qualifications (Agile/PMI)
