Job Description

*Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience., *Responsibilities:

  • Lead and influence the architectural design of features by determining quality and adhering to specifications.
  • Effective cross-functional leadership skills: working with engineering and operational teams tensure systems are secure, scalable, and reliable.
  • Configuration management solutions to meet the needs of application deployment and management.
  • Ability to review deployment and operational environments, i.e., execute initiatives to reduce failure, troubleshoot issues across the entire infrastructure stack, expand monitoring capabilities, and manage technical operations.
  • Design and build solutions that move data from internal solutions to cloud-based solutions.
  • Monitor the delivery of solutions between architecture, time, cost, and quality.
  • Configure and tunesystem and network parameters for optimum performance. Monitor system stability and performance.
  • Help develop tools to build,maintain and monitor systems.
  • Ensure 24x7x365 operation.
  • Most recently worked with RHEL/CentOS5/6; must have deep knowledge of these environments,and be able to answer probing questions about them.
  • MTA (pmta), web servers, load balancers (F5), network, host security
  • Clustering technologies - Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), Oracle RAC
  • Protocols - LDAP, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, NFS
  • Monitoring/trending tools - Zabbix, MON, Nagios, llm
  • Excellent programming/scripting in atleast two languages(one any kind of shell; the other a higher-levellanguage).
  • Solaris and ZFS experience a plus
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
  • Experience in fast-paced high-availability production and non-production environments(e.g.ISPs,ASPs,SaaS,etc.) with an emphasis on remote lights-out management of systems. A sense of urgency (but not panic) is key.
  • Team player with a drive to learn and lead.
  • Rapidly scale systems to meet demand.
  • develop/Participate in architecture decisions.
  • Write comprehensive documentation.
Qualifications:
  • 10+years as a Unix/Linux administrator
  • Previous experience implementing continuous delivery and DevOps solutions.
  • Strong operational experience in Linux/Unix environment and scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Python.
  • Advanced working experience in the following areas:
  • Expert skill in any of the following tools and systems: (will vary depending on the job): Docker, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Salt, Git, MongoDB (or other NoSQL DB).
  • Kick start server experience, Linux repository maintenance,and rpmpackage creation/manipulation
  • Excellent trouble shooting ability.
  • Excellent verbal,written,and customer service skills.
