Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES :

  • Contribute as a team member to the ongoing development of the application suite deployed at various laboratories in Europe.
  • You will be part of extended team on this software solution working from Bangalore, India and interacting with Business Analysts, Developers etc working in Europe.
  • Integrate himself or herself into the team workflow and best practices including Agile values and principles (Agile Manifesto)
  • Follow team development practices and policies in order to design an application suite that can easily be implemented within Eurofins Group World Wide and supported on a long-term period.
  • Create and maintain technical and operational documentation that describes program code, logic, changes, and modifications in the user work-flow.
SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS
  • Support (L2)
  • Develop expertise on in-house application(s).
  • Responsible to drive all technical and functional issues towards closure
  • L2 support - diagnosis, investigation, resolution, coordination with business, application owners, infrastructure support
  • Manage incidents raised as per SLAs (Service Level Agreement).
  • Development (L3)
  • Implement change requests in the existing modules and integrate new modules into the suite
  • Maintain good programming practices (code-quality, peer-review, and definition of done, documentation )
  • Deliver code as per the release plan as envisaged by the Product Owner or Business Analysts)
  • Develop working relationships within the eLIMS HVN programme (Product Owner, Business Analysts, First line support agents etc.,).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidate will have a self-motivated, get-it-done attitude; the ability to think critically; enjoy working with teams spread globally and across cultures; a desire to learn in new areas; and the discipline to pay attention to deadlines, details and quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with European team members
  • Will be an added advantage if worked on Laboratory related applications (optional)
EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years of experience with developing software solutions in VB6, SQL and Crystal Report.
  • Experience with design, coding, testing, and implementation of software
  • Experience in an agile environment would be a plus.
Technology skills:
  • Visual Basic 6 (Most important)
  • VB script
  • VB/C# .NET
  • MS SQL (stored procedures / views / transact SQL)
  • cscript (optional, but willing to learn)
  • Crystal Reports version 9 (optional, but willing to learn)
Personal Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Structured work habits and ability to conform to best practices for software development
  • Scrum values : Commitment, Focus, Openness, Respect, Courage
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Competent in English.
  • Ability to work in a complex international environment
  • Successful teamwork experience is required
  • Time management skills are a must; as well as the ability to be flexible and creative
Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree/MCA or any other Bachelor s degree with the right level of experience
