Job Description

Sandvine is looking for creative and talented developers to help develop the next generation of our Analytics and Insights solutions running on Public & Private Clouds, Virtual, COTS, and Appliances. Sandvine Analytics correlates and analyzes the vast set of data captured by Sandvine appliances and provides a wide array of insights into the deployed network. As part of this innovative, geographically diverse team, you will work to further enhance the capability and feature - set of the storage engine which propels the Sandvine Analytics Platform. Key Responsibilities

  • As an experienced database developer, you will be working with software development teams to build our Analytics product
  • Lead the design of a highly performant, scalable, fault - tolerant, and secure database platform that has the ability to store large volumes of data near real - time and support 100 s of concurrent users
  • You will work as an integral member of a self - directed Agile development team employing a Scrum - based methodology
  • Continuous improvement is part of our DNA, you are encouraged to find new ways to do things that will continuously improve daily work
  • Stay current on Vertica and proactively learn modern database technologies
  • Responsible for database profiling to identify bottlenecks in CPU capacity, memory capacity, disk IO capacity and network capacity
  • Responsible for the design of Database clusters
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor s or Masters (or equivalent) degree in Engineering or Computer Science
    • 5+ years of work experience in Software development
    • Excellent programming skills in Python
    • Columnar Database experience (Vertica preferred)
    • Expertise in columnar schema design, data modelling, performance tuning, scaling & fault tolerance
    • Debugging and troubleshooting using GDB, profiling tools for CPU and memory
    • Experience with Cloud technologies is a plus
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Self - starter with strong multi - tasking abilities.
