The Platform engineer needs to bring in the devops best practices within the organisation. You will work closely with Product Engineering team, understand the requirements and work towards proper implementation of devops fundamentals. You should be able to design a robust and secure infrastructure with security first mindset, leaving no loose ends that could lead to compromised infrastructure. You will also be responsible for handling few of our central services which are focussed towards handling developer centric tasks this increasing productivity across the teams.Role and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain our cloud platforms and support applications, demonstrating agile and dynamic application support capabilities.
• Contribute in our continuous improvement and continuous delivery while increasing maturity of Devops practices.
• Contribute in developing and implementing automated Devops capability for our application.
• Security first approach, continually focus on providing best security to our infrastructure and make sure all loose ends are tied with the help of proper auditing and monitoring of our infrastructure.
• Get involved in the discussions and provide inputs in designing a fully automated, robust and secure infrastructure.
• Work effectively in collaboration with different teams either local or remote.
• Work towards 100% availability of our applications by putting in right monitoring in place.
• Support our production environment with strong performance tuning, end-to-end troubleshooting, networking fundamentals skills.
• Manage a few central services which our Platform team manages and works on increasing developer efficiency.
• Convert manual process into automation and democratization of infra maintenance.
• Build a robust, scalable tracing and monitoring system.
• Perform and publish RCA for different failure and production errors
• Design processes for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Write UT cases so that the codebase you are going to maintain system stability and documentation
• Enable other organisation functions wherever necessary

• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 6+ years experience as a Devops engineer supporting different cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, IaC Tools like Terraform, CI/CD
• Comfortable building application in Python or Golang and strong in either one of these languages
• Preferably having software development background will also come in handy as this position apart from devops also works on few developer focussed products.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Computing AWS, Google Cloud. Ability to contribute in defining and designing good cloud architect. Hands-on experience with Core AWS resources.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and its underlying architecture. Ability to support kubernetes in any form, KOPs, Helm, EKS, GKE.
• Strong understanding of Docker fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience in writing terraform code to cater the need for IaC.
• Experience in defining security best practices to secure the infrastructure. Make use of different auditing and monitoring tools to ensure a secure infrastructure.
• Strong scripting skills ability automate manual tasks which could be easily converted to a script - shell, python.
• Hands on experience in CI/CD using Circle-CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions. Ability to understand and define different deployment strategies.
• Experience in monitoring tools such as New Relic, Cloudwatch, Grafana, Prometheus or similar
• Hands-on experience with GIT. Managing deployment and branching with in GIT through GITHUB
• Experience with GITHUB Actions and GITOps is a plus.
• Good understanding of YAML and JSON.
